GRIMM
Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and her seven dwarfs – they all make an appearance in GRIMM, a spectacular production by ISH Dance Collective and the Junior Company of Dutch National Ballet. This energetic and imaginative performance for all ages proves that hip-hop and ballet are a golden combination. Don’t miss it!
Fantasy World
Through a video game, two brothers find themselves in a fantastical world where they encounter famous fairy-tale characters from the legendary stories of the Brothers Grimm. In the game, they face an evil witch who’s trying to seize control over four kingdoms. The witch can only succeed if she manages to pair four charming princes with Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Rapunzel. Naturally, the brothers step in to prevent that from happening.
Dazzling Pirouettes and Head Spins
Thanks to immersive video projections, GRIMM makes anything seem possible: a blossoming spring forest transforms in an instant into a dark, eerie witch’s lair. In this magical setting, the dancers shine with breathtaking pirouettes, powerful jumps, sharp popping-and-locking moves, and jaw-dropping head spins.
Collaboration
GRIMM is the reprise of one of three collaborative productions by Marco Gerris and Ernst Meisner, artistic directors of hip-hop dance collective ISH Dance Collective and the Junior Company of Dutch National Ballet, respectively. Their very different backgrounds are, according to them, precisely what makes the collaboration so strong. Ernst Meisner: “By combining contrasting dance styles, the creative possibilities only grow.”
"This electrifying family show is without a doubt the most imaginative dance performance of the theatre season. Don’t miss your chance!"
