About ISH Dance Collective

For over 25 years, ISH has been bringing hip-hop dance and urban sports to the theatre. In our performances, we combine these disciplines with traditional art forms such as ballet, theatre and classical music. We believe in the power of unexpected crossovers. ISH is a collective of unconventional thinkers, creating dance from elements that not everyone would immediately consider dance. We create work for a broad, young and diverse audience. Exploring new paths and investing in younger generations are deeply rooted in our DNA.

We create both raw, signature ISH productions and performances with co-producers such as Dutch National Ballet, Amsterdam Sinfonietta and Jakop Ahlbom Company. We also work closely with theatres including Meervaart, Royal Theatre Carré and DeLaMar. ISH tours both nationally and internationally. We invest in a new generation of makers and performers through activities within the pillars ISH Talent, ISH Community and ISH Academy.

Performances and programmes

The internship will mainly focus on the productions Till Death Do Us Part (or Not), a co-production with Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Rhythm & Flow, DJANGAN! and a new large-scale co-production with Dutch National Ballet. Our production team is looking for an enthusiastic Production Intern / Production Assistant Intern starting in January/February 2027.

Production Intern / Production Assistant 32–40 hours per week

Who are we looking for?

• You are currently studying at a university of applied sciences (HBO) or research university (WO), and are at least in your third year.
• You have demonstrable organisational and/or production skills.
• You are a strong communicator and socially confident.
• You take initiative and enjoy getting things done.
• You have an affinity with (hip-hop) dance, urban sports and/or culture.
• You enjoy working as part of a team.
• You are proactive and work in a structured way.
• You have a good command of both Dutch and English.

What will you do?

You will become part of ISH’s production team. The team consists of a Head of Production, Production Manager, International Tour Manager and freelance Company Manager(s). You will be involved in the production of both large- and small-scale performances. You will also contribute to our talent development programmes and support our education and community activities.

Together with your colleagues, you will work on tasks including:

• Production coordination for performances and tours.
• Planning and producing rehearsals.
• Supporting and taking care of cast and crew.
• Managing budgets and complimentary tickets.
• Planning logistics during tours.
• Company management.
