About ISH Dance Collective

For over 25 years, ISH has been bringing hip-hop dance and urban sports to the theater. In our performances, we combine these disciplines with traditional art forms such as ballet, theater, and classical music, because we believe in interesting crossovers. ISH is a collective of unconventional thinkers and creates dance from elements that not everyone would immediately recognize as dance. We focus on a broad, young, and diverse audience: exploring new paths and investing in younger generations is deeply ingrained in our DNA.

We create both our own ISH performances and productions with co-producers such as the Dutch National Ballet, Amsterdam Sinfonietta, and the Jakop Ahlbom Company. In addition, we collaborate closely with theaters such as Meervaart, Carré, and DeLaMar. ISH tours nationally and internationally, and invests in a new generation of creators and performers through the pillars ISH Talent, ISH Community, and ISH Academy.

The internship focuses primarily on the productions *A Fine Mess* (a co-production with Jakop
Ahlbom Company), *Till Death Do Us Part (or Not)* (a co-production with Amsterdam
Sinfonietta), *Rhythm & Flow*, *Djangan!*, and a new large-scale co-production in
collaboration with the Dutch National Ballet. Would you like to contribute to these
projects? If so, we’d love to meet you.

You’ll be part of the organization’s production team. That team consists of a
production director, a production manager, an international tour manager, and freelance
company manager(s). You’ll be involved in the production of both large-scale and small-scale performances, as well as in overseeing the talent development program and supporting
educational and community outreach activities.

Working with your colleagues, you will be responsible for:

• Producing performances and tours
• Planning and organizing rehearsals
• Supervising and supporting the cast and crew
• Managing budgets and complimentary tickets
• Planning logistics during tours
• Company Management

Who are we looking for?

• You are enrolled in a higher professional education (HBO) or university (WO) program, and are at least a third-year student
• You have proven organizational and/or production skills
• You have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• You are proactive and a go-getter
• You have an affinity for (hip-hop) dance, urban sports, and/or culture.
• You enjoy working in a team
• You are proactive and work in a structured manner
• You have a good command of Dutch and English

• An internship stipend of 350 euros per month (based on 36 hours)
• Travel reimbursement (if you live outside Amsterdam and don’t have a public transit pass)
