Sophie van der Heide

Sophie van der Heide is a professional dancer, choreographer and teacher from the Netherlands. She graduated from Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts and has a broad background in various dance styles, including contemporary, modern, jazz and urban contemporary. In her work, she combines her technical and versatile background with a personal and theatrical approach to movement. Sophie is always looking for new ways to tell stories and express emotionsthrough dance. Alongside her work as a performer, she teaches and creates her own choreography. In 2026, she won the Dutch television dance competition Project Dans, after which she has continued to focus on developing herself as a creator and performer. She will be appearing in the production Till Death Do Us Part (or Not) in 2027. A role in this production was the prize in the Project Dans competition.
