Jenson Blight was born in Brisbane, Australia, and began dancing at the Premier Dance Academy at the age of three. In 2023, Jenson represented the Queensland Ballet Academy at the Prix de Lausanne’s annual ‘Choreographer Project’, where he worked with choreographer Goyo Montero. After graduating, Jenson took part in the 2024 Prix de Lausanne. There, he won the Astarte scholarship, which allowed him to join the Junior Company of the Dutch National Ballet. Before Jenson moved from Australia to the Netherlands, he participated as a Young Artist Trainee in Bespoke, a programme run by Queensland Ballet.
Since arriving in the Netherlands, Jenson has performed a diverse repertoire, both on the main stage of the Dutch National Ballet and on tour. Building on his classical and modern background, Jenson’s work demonstrates a growing versatility through focused training, rehearsal processes and involvement in new works.
