ISH Dance Collective is looking for versatile dancers for a new large-scale co-production with Dutch National Ballet. Would you like to participate in innovative musical theater that combines dance, imagination, and live music? Apply using the form below!

We are looking for talented dancers who:

  • Have a strong foundation in hip-hop styles such as hip-hop, breaking, popping, locking and clubbing, and feel comfortable with physical and theatrical performance, partnering and improvisation.
  • Have an affinity with theatre, dance and other performing arts.
  • Are collaborative and see working together as an essential part of the creative process.
  • Are able to work independently and take a strong sense of responsibility for their own work.
  • Are creative and have artistic skills in dance, theatre, music, improvisation and/or composition.
  • Live in the Netherlands or are able to arrange their own accommodation. ISH does not provide accommodation or housing.
  • Are available during the rehearsal and performance periods listed below.

Dancers whose primary background is in other dance styles, such as modern/contemporary, jazz or ballet, do not need to apply for this audition.

Availability

You must be available during the following periods:

  • Rehearsals: 16 August to 3 September and 19 October to 11 November 2027
  • Technical rehearsals: 9 to 13 November 2027
  • Performance dates: 16 to 21 November 2027
  • Tour: 12 January to 20 February 2028

Audition programme

  • Audition date: December 10 2026
  • Location: Nationale Opera & Ballet, Amstel 3, 1011 PN Amsterdam
  • Duration: the audition will take place over one day with:
    • Group assignment (combination of set material & short composition assignment)
    • Prepare a solo of no more than 2 minutes with your own choice of music. Choose a track that enhances your style and allows you to excel in your full range of movement and individuality.
  • A first selection of dancers may be made after the group assignment.

Registration & timeline

  • Audition day: 10 December 2026
  • Application deadline: 16 November 2026 (via the form at the bottom of this page)
  • Pre-selection results / invitation: Donderdag 10 December 2026
