Narnia

Based on the timeless book by C.S. Lewis and the later film version by Disney, the famous story comes to life in a surprising and rarely seen collaboration between the two dance worlds, hiphop and ballet.

De Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe is the story of four children, who while visiting a large country estate and enjoying themselves with a game of hide-and-seek, end up hiding in a cupboard which miraculously transports them to a forest in which it is always winter. In this mysterious world of Narnia, the children are confronted with armies of ‘the good’ led by the lion Aslan, and the legions of ‘the bad’, led by the White Witch.

Surprising cooperation between two dance worlds.

As in all fairytales, sacrifice, lust for power, redemption and victory by the good forces play a role. Marco Gerris and Ernst Meisner give this story their own contemporary twist.
