From and with love Battle

The FROM AND WITH LOVE (FAWL) Battle is not just about winning. It is about how you dance with yourself, with the music, with each other, and with the moment.

This first edition creates extra space for creativity. During part of the battle, there are no standard round time limits, allowing dancers to truly respond to the music and one another.

Who is it for?

For dancers of all styles who want to take part in an open style battle. Whether you come to battle, cypher, or simply support the scene, you are welcome.

Battle Format

The evening starts with a cypher preselection. Dancers are divided into different cyphers, where participants vote on who advances to the next round.

The competition then continues with cypher battles, 2v2 battles, and finally a 1v1 championship battle.

Admission to the FAWL Battle is €5 for both participants and visitors. Want to compete? You can register in advance via the registration form, or sign up at the door on the evening itself (subject to availability).

Prefer to watch? You're more than welcome too. Expect an evening full of music, cyphers, battles, and community.

Location

The battle takes place in the Makers Studio at Het Talentenhuis, Meer en Vaart 290, 1068 LE Amsterdam.

The venue is located just a 3-minute walk from the Osdorpplein Oost tram stop and is easily accessible by bike, car, and public transport.

About FAWL Sessions

The FAWL Battle grew out of FAWL Sessions, a weekly open style training night initiated by dancer and maker Noor Jayani. Every Tuesday evening, dancers gather at Het Talentenhuis in Amsterdam Nieuw-West to train, explore, cypher, and inspire one another. With live music from DJs and an open atmosphere, connection is at the heart of every session: between styles, people, cultures, and disciplines. FAWL offers space for both artistic development and meaningful encounters. A place where you can train consistently, meet new people, and continue developing your own movement language.
