Raquel Tijsterman
Raquel Tijsterman began studying classical ballet at the age of four and was accepted into the National Ballet Academy at the age of nine. After completing her training, she had the pleasure of performing in a number of major classical ballets with the Dutch National Ballet, such as *The Nutcracker* and *Swan Lake*. Alongside ballet, she always had a keen interest in other dance styles, so Raquel made the switch to the freelance world and developed her skills in styles such as tap dance and waacking. In 2009, Raquel danced in her first show with ISH Dance Collective, where she subsequently performed in various productions for over ten years, including Narnia and Grimm (2018). She has also undertaken several major dance projects abroad, is a member of Tappin-it Collective, and tours the country with the swinging funk band ‘Hot Town’. As well as being an all-round performer, Raquel is also a theatre maker, choreographer and teacher.
