Jerry Remkes

Jerry Remkes is Director of ISH. He has worked in many capacities during his 25-year career in the arts, amongst others as an executive producer, cultural policy officer, performing arts programmer, dramaturg, advisory panel member, journalist, researcher and board member. Dance is what connects everything in Jerry’s life, even though no one has ever seen him set foot on the dance floor himself. His passion as a professional is creating opportunities for those that experience challenges in getting access to the arts world. Jerry was new to hiphop dance, but he has quickly found his place in the industry, focusing in particular on talent development, community and education. Before he started for ISH in 2021, Jerry lived and worked for nine years in Melbourne, Australia.
