Jade Gihai

Jade Gihai is a Dutch-Korean movement artist, dancer, and choreographer whose practice is rooted in house dance and social dance culture. Her journey began with intuitive, experimental movement and expanded through salsa and Latin styles, deepening her love for rhythm, freestyle, and community. Inspired by martial arts and cultural traditions, she explores movement as a form of dialogue and connection. After graduating from Rijn IJssel’s Urban Dance program in 2022, she created a duet with live music during a 3 month residency in Korea with Kokkduegwandea, co-founded HomeMade Sauce - a grassroots dance event and has contributed to various stage performances and community-based projects. She continues to develop and grow through travel, self-exploration/creation, and collaborations, including working with NOWHERE and ISH Dance Collective.
