Femke Monaghan van Wachem
Femke has been Executive Director of ISH Dance Collective since 1 August 2026. Together with founder and Artistic Director Marco Gerris, she leads the organisation and works to further strengthen ISH as a leading dance company and creative community.
Femke began her career as a visual artist. After completing a postgraduate programme in fine arts, she studied business administration. Since then, she has built extensive experience in the cultural sector, combining artistic vision with strategic leadership and organisational development.
Before joining ISH, Femke was Managing Director of De Balie. Prior to that, she served as General Director of Comedytrain & Toomler and held management positions at Het Scheepvaartmuseum and Boom Chicago.
With her combination of artistic affinity, strategic insight and business expertise, Femke is committed to building a sustainable organisation where talent development, artistic innovation and the strength of the community are at the heart of everything ISH does.
