Eva Scherpenisse

Eva Scherpenisse (Utrecht) is a dancer, choreographer, and creator. While studying at the Fontys Dance Academy, she became fascinated by African dance: its positive energy, the meaning behind the movements, and their powerful execution. This inspired her to travel through Africa, where she immersed herself in various African dance styles, traditional rhythms and movements, and street culture. In 2023, she made her debut as a dance creator with the performance Power of Passion, in which she provides a stage for the stories and talent of African dancers. Eva's choreographies are characterized by powerful dynamics and a deep respect for the cultural roots of the dance she practices. She founded the Power of Passion Foundation and started a dance school in Abobo, Ivory Coast, where 15 professional dancers now train and 200 children take free dance lessons. Eva collaborates with international artists and believes in the connecting power of dance. In 2025, she performed in ISH Open Nights.
