Carl Hightower Refos

Carl Refos has been with ISH since the beginning and appeared in many of Marco Gerris' pieces until 2016, as a breaker, rapper, beatboxer, and MC. Multitalented as he is, Refos now works as a singer with the Dutch Reisopera and performs regularly with the Silbersee ensemble. In 2021, he created the performance Broerszussen (Brotherssisters) for ISH, a successful dance theater performance for elementary school children, which unfortunately was hardly performed due to the pandemic. The performance Paramaribo Dreams was created under the banner of ISH Talent, through which ISH supports talented new creators in their professional development.
