ISH Community & Feadan and Liam McCall present “Scenes of the Solstice. An experience where live electronic jazz music, contemporary and hip-hop dance come together in a mystical evening of improvisation, a jam where everyone is invited to join in - as a spectator and/or a participant.
About the Jam
Scenes of the Solstice is a fusion of the excitement of jazz, the energy of hip-hop, and the unexpectedness of improvisation. Dancers and musicians inspire each other and respond in the moment. It is a journey through the night. And the audience plays a role, too. In fact, you are cordially invited to join in. Lose yourself in the magic of the night, where the unexpected plays the leading role. Music lovers, dance lovers, everyone is welcome. A journey through the night, we jammin' - where scenes are created.
The longest night
December 20 is one day before the longest and darkest night of the year. Liam and Feadan McCall seize this moment to explore the extremes between light and dark.
Scenes of the Solstice a scripted jam - the setting is reminiscent of a cross between a dark jazz cafe and ADE. Like club life, you dance in anonymity and meet like-minded people. Time almost seems to stand still and you become absorbed in your fantasy.
MC2: Liam and Feadan McCall
MC², the duo of brother and sister Liam and Feadan McCall, brings their shared passion for dance, music and theater together in powerful performances. They regularly work together in productions at AYA, residencies at DOX, and as creators for Danslab at ISH and de Meervaart. Read more information about MC2 here.

Practical information
- This evening is an open JAMsession, where all elements such as dance, light and live music come together, but it can also be seen as a magic theater performance, a concert, a dance theater or battle for the audience.
- Both dancers and non-dancers participate in the evening. During this evening the audience also plays an active role. The evening starts with a collective warm-up. You are not obliged to participate, you can also watch (this gives a different experience). Dance experience is not necessary.
- Please note: the evening will be filmed and photographed for marketing purposes. (If you do not want this, you can indicate this at the entrance)
- Ticket: €7,50 - without drink.
There is a prize for the best improvisation.
ISH Community
Every year, ISH Dance Collective gives four performers or collectives the opportunity to organize an evening with the aim of giving something back to the hip-hop community.
