Open Call for Next Steps
With the successful collaboration, the Junior Company of the Dutch National Ballet and ISH Dance Collective have shown how ballet and hip-hop can strengthen each other. Now, with the Next Steps program, they are offering new dance makers the chance to further explore this unique opportunity.
Open Call: NextSteps 2025 - For new dance makers!
Do you have a love for ballet and/or hip-hop and an idea for a short choreography (10-15 minutes) for two or three dancers? Then submit your concept plan! Your plan can be based on a theme, form idea or working method, as long as both ballet and hip-hop are represented in your choreography. The selected works will be performed by Junior Company dancers and hip-hop dancers, possibly from ISH.
Who can participate?
- New choreographers (up to five previous choreographies) with an affinity for ballet and/or hip-hop.
Important dates:
- Deadline for submission: November 23, 2024.
- Creation period: February and March 2025.
- Presentation: March 26 and 27, 2025 in Studio Boekman, National Opera & Ballet.
Selection will be made by Ernst Meisner (Junior Company), Marco Gerris (ISH Dance Collective), and a previous choreographer from the Junior Company of ISH.
